Obituary for Samuel Haag Sr. Samuel Wallace Haag Sr., age 69, of Brookville PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 14, 2018, at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Sam was born on September 17, 1948 to the late Blair E. and Dorothy E. (Hetrick) Haag in Brookville, PA. He graduated from the Brookville High School. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the United States Army in 1969. He served his country for 31 years before retiring from the military as a Major. He was also a self-employed contractor during his military years and after. “He was a Jack of many trades and master of all.” He was a member of the Hobah Lodge #276. Sam is survived by three children; Samuel W. Jr. (Christine) Haag; Jennifer A. (Rob) Grill-Gibbons; and Jason A. Haag; one brother; David E. (Sandy) Haag; fourteen grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Sam is preceded in death by one brother; Phillip J. Haag. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, July 18, 2018, from 2 – 4pm and 6 – 8pm, at the McKinney – d’Argy Funeral Home, 345 Main St, Brookville, PA 15825. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2018, also at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00am and officiated by Pastor Guy Felmlee. Interment will take place at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Winslow Twp., Jefferson Co., PA. Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Masonic Hobah Lodge #276, 105 Evans St., Brookville, PA, 15825, or to the American Cancer Society.
