Obituary for Salvador Martinez Salvador Martinez, of Gibbon, died June 27, 2018 at CHI-Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. A gathering will be held on Tuesday, from 10 a.m.- 11:30 a.m., with a prayer service from 11:30 – noon, at All Faiths Funeral Home in Grand Island. Dan Naranjo will officiate. A burial of ashes will be at the Gibbon Cemetery following the service. Salvador was born on August 14, 1936 to Jose and Manuela (Rodriguez) Martinez, at their home in Gibbon. This is also where he was raised and received his education. Salvador enjoyed gardening, reading, cars. He was an avid boxer in his younger years and was even awarded golden gloves. His greatest joys were his grandkids and his great grand-dogs. Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Josephine (Ariel) Pilotos Ramirez; grandchildren, Quincy (Veronica Rojas) Kenton, and Cesar Alvarado; brothers, Ernesto Martinez, and Arthur Martinez; sisters, Belerina Darnell, Hortensia Lopez, Delores Woodward, Mary Castro, and Dorothy Hehner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Manuel Martinez, Aristeo Martinez, and Carlos Martinez. Memorials are suggested to the Air Force Aid Society.
