Rudolph J. Maldonado, 83, of Metuchen died on Saturday, June 30, 2018 at the JFK Medical Center in Edison. Born in Manhattan, he had also lived in the Bronx & Edison before moving to Metuchen. He worked for IBM & Control Data as a Systems Analyst. He designed the first money transfer system for Banco Nacional. He proudly served in the US Air Force & was a member of the American Legion Post 65 in Metuchen. He was also a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in Metuchen. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph & Dolores; and a brother, Edgar (d.2012). He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosina of Metuchen; two daughters, Edwardina & Michael of Spotswood, and Christine & Mark of Flemington; 2 granddaughters, Shawna & Amber; & two sisters, Carmen & Matilda. A funeral service will take place on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 10 AM at the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middle Ave (Rt.27), Metuchen followed by interment at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.
