Roy A. Dexter, 71 of Northome, Minnesota died Sunday, July 29, 2018 at his home. A memorial visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Monday, August 6, 2018 at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck, MN. Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veteran’s Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Roy was born March 17, 1947 in Bemidji, MN, the son of Gordon and Esther (Yant) Dexter. He graduated from Blackduck High School. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1969. After the Army,… Read More » he served in the National Guard. He worked for the Willmar State Hospital for a time before moving back to the area and started work at BSU. Later he worked as a farmer and a logger before retiring. Roy is survived by his son, David (Minka) Harkcom; daughter, Bethany (Dale) Ehrenberg; mother, Esther Dexter; siblings, Gary (Sheri) Dexter, Kay (Gary) Leonhardt, Marlys (Mike) Ward and Gayle (John) Ince; grandchildren, Diane, Samantha, Dustin, Caitlin, Jessica, and Elizabeth and one great grandson, Charon. Roy was preceded in death by his father, Gordon, and his uncle, George Yant. Arrangements are pending with Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji, MN.
