Rose Abatemarco 2018

Rose M. Abatemarco, 97, of Edison, entered into eternal life, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Metuchen. Born in Brooklyn, she was a lifelong resident until moving to Edison 10 years ago. She was an active member and often referred to as the President of the Crocheting Club. The club continuously donates to the homeless throughout the entire year. She enjoyed taking care of her family and being able to spend most of her time around those she loved. She is predeceased by her husband, Michael (d.1996). She is survived by her 5 children, Mary Lanzillotti & her husband Peter, of Livingston Manor, NY, Vincent & his wife Sandra of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Michael & Eileen of Garden City, NY, Rosalie Samat & her husband Yaz of Metuchen, & Laura Galante & her husband Michael of Hazlet; 8 grandchildren, Anthony, Marc, Jodi, Vincent, Andrea, Michael, Natalie, & Joseph; 3 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018, at 9:00am at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen. Interment will follow at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 at Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middle Ave. (Rt.27), Metuchen. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS, 66675-8517.
