Obituary for Ronald Chaplin Sr. TROY Ronald E. Chaplin Sr., 63, of 1st St. died Tuesday July 3, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital. Born and educated in Troy he was the son of the late Alfred and Emma Kennedy Chaplin. Ron was employed for 26 years by the City of Troy and retired in 2010. He enjoyed spending time with his family and helping those in need. He is the husband of Deborah Gerst Chaplin and father of Ronald E. Chaplin Jr., Scott E. Chaplin and Deborah A. Chaplin all of Troy. He the proud grandfather of Daydrion Ward, Kyla and Jaevyn McFadden, Alex and Jenna Chaplin and the late Alicia Chaplin. He is the brother of Viola, Juley, Emma, Barbara, Diane, Theresa, Linda, Harold, William, Robert, Richard and the late Alfred. Funeral services will be Monday at 7 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford.
