Roger James Williams, 60, of Rolling Prairie, passed away unexpectedly at 11:20 a.m., Monday, July 23, 2018 at La Porte Hospital. He was born July 7, 1958, in Michigan City, Indiana, to Earl James and Mary Ann (Crama) Williams. Roger was an oven operator at Alpha Baking Company, La Porte, for 27 years. He enjoyed grilling food for others and taking his family on outings to Indiana Beach. Roger especially enjoyed his road trips to the casino. He had an easy-going personality and… Read More » was never mean to anyone. He was very family oriented and loved his wife, children, grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law very much. On May 10, 1997, in Rolling Prairie, Indiana, he married Cheryl May (Richardson) Williams, who survives. Also surviving are his two children, Heather Lopez of Rolling Prairie and Jason Smyers of La Porte; one brother, Allen (Tammy) Williams of La Porte; and eleven grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his parents; one daughter, Traci Hall; one sister, Sherry Williams; and one brother, Mark Williams. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, July 28, 2018 at First Christian Church, 113 W. Michigan St., Rolling Prairie, Indiana, 46371.
