Obituary for Roger Hyatt Roger Douglas Hyatt “Doug”, age 58, of Monroe, went home to be with Jesus Sunday, July 22, 2018 at his home. Doug was born on November 10, 1959. He was a 1978 graduate of Robbinsville High School and a 1982 graduate of Appalachian State University. He worked at ATI Specialty Materials since 1983 to date. Doug loved being outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, riding bikes and riding motorcycles. Doug was a devoted Christian husband and father who loved his family and always was planning the next adventure. He loved his church serving the Lord through numerous mission trips both local and foreign, led several senior citizen and youth trips and served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Doug is preceded in death by his father, Roger Person Hyatt; maternal grandparents Chauncey and Leah Palmer; paternal grandparents Moody and Geraldine Hyatt. Doug is survived by his wife of 30 years, Donna Fowler Hyatt, daughter Nicole Hyatt Coan (Trey) and son Elijah Roger Hyatt; mother, Elsie Palmer Hyatt, sister Tammy Hyatt Rollins (Ken); three nephews Dwayne Palmer Rollins, Clark Fowler, and Trace Fowler and a niece Carter Rollins Hartwell (Clay); Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Cline and Mary Ruth Fowler and brother-in-law Greg Fowler (Melissa). Funeral Service will be held at 11:00AM, Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Trinity Baptist Church, 2613 Concord Highway, Monroe, NC. Another service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00PM, at Liberty Baptist Church with burial to follow in church cemetery, in the Spring Creek Community, Hot Springs, NC. The family will receive friends from 7:00pm until 9:00pm Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Trinity Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2613 Concord Highway, Monroe NC 28110.
