Obituary of Robert Love, Sr. Robert G. Love, Sr. Age 80, a lifetime Joliet, IL resident, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. He was born April 14, 1938, to the late George and Amy (nee Smith) Love. Robert was educated in Joliet grade schools and graduated from Joliet Township High School, Class of 1956. He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a Private First Class. Robert was a member of the Joliet Moose Lodge #300, American Legion Post #1080 and Matteson Lodge #175. He enjoyed ice cream, was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Joliet Whiteford Colts baseball team. Robert is survived by his daughter, Heather (Brian) Nelson; son, Robert G. Love, Jr.; step children, Linda (Bruce) Tuntland, Dale (Connie) Edwards, Carol (Don) Bernardi and Cathy (John) Schmieder; grandfather of Kimberly and Michael Ledwa and Danielle and Jacob Love; and great grandfather of Alexander and Kinslee. Several step grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet (nee Edwards) Love; his mother, Amy, who succumbed to breast cancer when Bob was only 4 years old; his father, George; and stepmother, Charlotte, who raised Bob. Visitation for Robert G. Love, Sr. will be held on Monday, July 23, 2018, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m., at the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Elmhurst Cemetery.
