Richard T. Lynn, Sr., 88, of Champion, passed away Friday evening, July 27, 2018, at his residence. “Tom” as he was affectionately known, was born October 10, 1929 in Fowler, the son of the late Orlando D. and Merlin H. (Frye) Lynn. He was a 1947 graduate of Fowler High School, and was employed as an aircraft refueler for the U.S. Air Force Reserve base in Vienna for 31 years, retiring in 1990. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He also served for a time in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. Tom married the former Marie F. Baugher on July 18, 1953. They shared 56 years of marriage and many happy memories together until her passing January 31, 2010. He was a member of the Champion Christian Church and the former Champion American Legion. He enjoyed hunting and was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Tom is survived by two children; Sandra M. (Dean) Jewell, and Richard T. (Patricia) Lynn, Jr., both of Warren. He also leaves behind four grandchildren; Dean Jewell, Ryan (Tisha) Jewell, Jason (Tiffany) Lynn, and Jaimie (Anthony) Pavkovich; and seven great grandchildren. Besides his wife, Tom was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Helen Pearsall and Geraldine Mizicko. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the Carl W. Hall Funeral Home, 533 North Park Ave., Warren, with Pastor Ken Hopkins officiating. Friends may call 11 AM to 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest in the Crown Hill Burial Park, Vienna.
