OBITUARY Richard Patrick Kelley December 5, 1938 – July 21, 2018 Richard Patrick Kelley passed away July 21, 2018 in Covington, Louisiana surrounded by friends. He was 79 years of age. Dick was an avid boater and lifelong outdoorsman, sharing the beauty of southeast Louisiana’s marsh with multiple generations. He represented St. Tammany Parish on the Regional Planning Commission for many years and served as Chairman for several terms, shaping the region’s transportation, economic development, and environmental planning. Dick was a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Tammany Parish Hospital Foundation. Dick was a member of New Orleans Country Club, Southern Yacht Club, and Lizard’s Lodge. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen Geoghegan Kelley and Laurin Wesley Kelley. Dick is survived by cousins and friends of all ages who loved him dearly and will miss him terribly. We would like to offer special thanks to Loretta Minor for her dedication and care. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd. at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Tammany Parish Hospital Foundation, 1202 South Tyler Street, Covington, LA 70433.
