Richard L. Jones, 80, went home to be the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018. He was born in Henry County, Indiana on February 9, 1938 to the late Norris and Frances Jean (Sharp) Jones. Richard had a lifelong love for horses and farming. He never knew a stranger. He loved life and enjoyed being with his family and friends. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1956. Worked as an independent over-the-road truck driver for several years. Worked for Midland Deliver Service out of North Carolina for 14 years hauling mail. Also, worked for Dennis Equipment for several years as a pickup and delivery man. He is survived by his loving wife, Carole whom he married August 20, 1977. A daughter, Robin Lynn (Warren) Bright of Stilesville, Indiana; two sons: Jeffrey A. Jones of Reelsville, Indiana and Richard L (Angie) Jones of Fishers, Indiana; three stepdaughters whom he raised as his own: Robin Lynn (Bob) Swords of Bloomington, Illinois, Tracey Anne (Kevin) McDonald of New Castle, Indiana, Kelli Adams (friend Max) of New Castle, Indiana; sister, Bonnie Jean Shipley of New Castle, Indiana; brother in laws, Robert Graham of New Castle, Indiana and David (Anita) Hoopingarner of Muncie, Indiana; sister in law Marcia K. Ankrom of Bloomington, Indiana; four grandchildren, eight step grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. Many cousins, nieces and nephews survive him. Along with his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Diana L. Graham and a brother in law, Gareld Shipley. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 Pm on Friday, August 3, 2018 at Macer -Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service and from 10-11 AM on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Funeral Service will be held at 110 AM on Saturday August 4, 2018 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Service with Rev. Jeff Ingalls, officiating.
