OBITUARY Rhonda Smith May 1, 1959 – July 10, 2018 Rhonda J. Smith, 59, of Temecula, California died July 10, 2018 at Temecula Valley Hospital. She was born May 1, 1959 in Alliance, Nebraska to Arthur Keith and Helen Irene King. She married Dale Leonard Smith on April 13, 1991 in San Gabriel, California. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1994. Rhonda was a Senior Investigator for the United States Department of Agriculture Animal & Plant Health Inspection Investigative Enforcement Services. She loved her work and was dedicated to the job. She will be remembered for her quick wit and great sense of humor. Rhonda never knew a stranger; she was a friend to all. She is survived by her mother, Helen I. King of Scott City, Missouri; her mother-in-law, Carol Smith of Apple Valley, California; two sisters, Ardith (Glen) Piihl of Lakeside, Nebraska and Marjorie (Rennie) Phillips of Scott City, Missouri; one brother, Milton (Marcy) King of Eden, Georgia; one brother-in-law, Garry Vargason; nieces and nephews, Desmond Piihl, Denys Piihl-Gilman, Victor Phillips, Tait Phillips, Amanda Vargason-Fox; her dog, Munchkin, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur Keith King; her sister, Rosemary Vargason; her father-in-law, Gerald Smith, and her brother-in-law, Alan Smith. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Desert View Memorial Park, 11478 Amargosa Road, Victorville, California. She can be visited at her final resting place after August 31, 2018.
