DATELINE: SHELBY, NORTH CAROLINA PAULINE BAILEY PARKER Surado Pauline Parker, 86, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on June 28, 2018 at CMC Cleveland in Shelby, NC. A native of Green Mountain, NC, she was the daughter of the late Nimpson and Lillie Callahan Bailey of Bakersville, NC. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years WIlburn (Bill) Parker, and six brothers and sisters: Walter Bailey, Rachel Million, Ruth Seatz, Ida Goins, Stokes Bailey and Fred Bailey. Pauline was a graduate of Appalachian State University. She taught first grade at Rhodhiss Elementary in Granite Falls, NC, where she met her future husband Bill Parker who served as principal of Rhodhiss Elementary. After marrying Bill in 1961, they moved to Kings Mountain, NC and she taught first grade at Elizabeth Elementary in Shelby NC, retiring in 1994. Pauline was a long time member of El Bethel Methodist Church. She was a very faithful servant there, and was loved by many in the church as well as the community. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. SURVIVORS: Son: Randall C. Parker, Kings Mountain, NC Daughter: Deia Parker and husband Jennings Cassidy, Matthews, NC 3 Grandchildren: Lindsay Cassidy, Justin Cassidy and Jason Parker 1 Great-Grandchild Cassidy Parker Numerous nieces and nephews MEMORIAL SERVICE: Monday July 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at El Bethel Methodist Church with Rev. Julie Roberts and Rev. Bruce Hobson officiating. VISITATION: Monday July 2, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at El Bethel Methodist Fellowship Hall.
