OBITUARY Patrick C. Hilmers Sr August 23, 1929 – July 1, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Patrick C. Hilmers, Sr., 88, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2018. Patrick was born August 23, 1929 in Victoria to the late John “Allie” and Freda Reissig Hilmers. Patrick was a 1946 graduate of Patti Welder High School. After graduation he proudly served in the U.S. Marines. He was a member of First Christian Church of Victoria and a member of the Kerrville Masonic Lodge #697 for many years. Upon leaving the Marines, Patrick went to the University of Texas Austin where he received a Bachelor of Arts. He then began working as an iron worker and a pipe fitter eventually becoming a draftsman. He then obtained a teaching degree and taught welding at Scott High in Houston. Later in life he designed house plans. Patrick helped many people throughout his life and remained active until his passing. Patrick is survived by his daughters, Barbara Gillan and Sharon Hilmers; son, Patrick C. Hilmers, Jr.; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Mae McDonald Hilmers; daughter, Elaine Carpenter; sisters, Rosalie Hummel and Dorothy Schneider; brother, Walter Hilmers; and grandson, Patrick C. Hilmers, III. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 am to be held at Colonial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
