Patricia A. Barrett, 86, of Mount Vernon, died on Sunday, July 29, 2018, at Hallmark Care Center, Mount Vernon. Memorial Services: 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial: Mount Vernon Memorial Cemetery, Mount Vernon. Survivors include her sons, Richard (Linda) Barrett and Robert (Joan) Barrett, all of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Dawn Barrett, Devon Barrett (Cheryl… Read More » Studt), Zachary (Keisha) Barrett, and Jacob Barrett; great grandchildren, Kenny and Zachary. Pat was born May 14, 1932, in Martelle, Iowa, the daughter of David and Evelyn (Guhlow) Myers. After graduating from high school, Pat married Manard Barrett on July 24, 1949, in Marion, Iowa. Pat owned and operated Pat’s Place in Mount Vernon, then later worked as a teacher aide at Mount Vernon Community Schools for 13 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed playing bingo and going to casinos. In her younger years, she like to camp and fish. She loved spending time with her family and friends and they will greatly miss her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Sharon Binner, and an infant daughter, Deborah. Memorials may be directed to the family.
