Obituary for Oscar “Jaybird” Gragg Jay Gragg “Jaybird”, age 87, of Hudson went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Hickory Falls Health and Rehab. He was born December 31, 1930, son of the late Sanford and Edna Raby Gragg. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Kathy Gragg; five brothers, Burl, Bill, Sam, Roy and Frank Gragg. Those left to cherish his memory are two sons, Jay Alan Gragg (Brenda) of Calabash, NC and Ronald “Satch” Gragg (Shayron) of Granite Falls; two grandsons, Jeff Gragg (Crystal) of Granite Falls and Elliott Gragg of Granite Falls; one granddaughter, Lauren Gragg of Calypso, NC; one great-grandson, Josh Gragg and one great-granddaughter, Allison Gragg of Calabash, NC; three brothers, Eddie Gragg (Kathy), Luther Gragg (Maggie), Fred Robert Gragg; two sisters, Ruth Smith (Larry) and Mary Lou Poure; multiple nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 28, 2018, from 2 – 3 PM at Calvary Advent Christian Church, 1330 Delwood Dr., SW, Lenoir. The service will follow at 3 PM with Rev. James Lee officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Memorial Garden, Lenoir. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Calvary Advent Christian Church, 1330 Delwood Dr., SW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
