Olivia Villarreal Lopez Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother Waynesville-Olivia Lopez, age 77, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, July 19, 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacinto and Matea Villarreal; two brothers, Elias and Alberico Villarreal. Olivia is survived by her sweet and lovinghusband of 55 years, Ernesto R. Lopez; four wonderful children, Anna Lopez-Stratton (David) of Waynesville, Sylvia King (Darron), Luis Lopez (Kellie) and Elda Mercer (Robert) all of TX; two sisters and four brothers, Sixto Villarreal (Jova), Delfino Villarreal (Ana), Maria Del Carmen Garza, Miguel Villarreal (Veronica Perez), Vaudelia Garza (Ruben Perez) and Jacoba Villarreal; along with eleven amazing grandchildren, Melanie, Michael, Mathew, Michaela, Ryan, Trevor, Christina, Troy, Logan, Parker and Anslie; one great- grandchild, John and one great-grandchild to be expected in October; as well as all of her friends and beloved clientele from the barber shop. She was an extraordinary woman. Olivia kept her family close and enjoyed every minute with them. Olivia and her husband Ernesto owned and operated a small barber shop in Grand Prairie, TX for 32 years and in Canton, NC for 7 years. They worked side-by-side over the many years. She also enjoyed traveling and cursing to the Caribbean and Europe, tending her flowers, going to thrift stores and cooking- she made the “Best Tamale’s in the world”. Olivia was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Rio First United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Sanchez Funeral Home, Rio-Grande City, TX with inurnment at Rio Grande City Cemetery. The family would like to acknowledge the love and support shown from all of Olivia’s family, extended family, friends and customers over the many years in Grande Prairie, TX and Canton, NC.
