Obituary for Nancy Jane Burns Cunningham Nancy Jane Burns Cunningham, age 81 of Ellenwood, GA formerly of Turnerville, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. Born in Habersham County on April 12, 1937, she was a daughter of the late William Edward and Lizzie Phillips Burns. Mrs. Cunningham retired from Mt. Vernon Mills. She enjoyed watching TV, fishing, sewing and solving word puzzles. Mrs. Cunningham was a member of Community Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur James “Junior” Cunningham; sons, William Grady and David Gene Cunningham; grandson, Grady Elvis Cunningham; brothers, Oscar, Leroy and Wilson Burns; sisters, Julie Armour and Eunice Shirley. Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law, James D. Cunningham of Locust Grove and Billy Joe and Ronda Cunningham of Ellenwood, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Janie Sue and Ken Dubroc of Winder; stepdaughter, Mary Ann Holcomb of Rex, Georgia; brother, Nelson Burns of Alto; sisters, Frances Wade of Demorest, Minnie Lee Burns of Demorest and Vernie Johnson of Cornelia; 16 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm on Sunday, July 8, 2018 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Alvin Burns officiating. Interment will follow in Community Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
