Obituary for Mildred Culver MILDRED CULVER In search of an angel God and Mildred had a private conversation. God decided he needed a special star to shine among his angels and Mildred agreed. On Monday, June 18, 2018 the angels, the doves, God and Mildred took flight to Mildred eternal home. Mildred Culver was born on April 29, 1929 in Macon, Georgia. Mildred was the only child born to Ruby Roberson and Sandy Grey. The public school that Mildred attended was Pleasant Grove AME Church. Mildred married L.C. Culver in 1945. Mildred was widowed by the age of 19 and she migrated to New York to work and support her first born son Calvin Culver. In 1955 Mildred then relocated to Newport News, Va. Mildred began working for Hampton Institute. In 1960 Mildred gave birth to her Daughter Jeannette on November 5, 1960 after giving birth to her daughter, Mildred took a sleep-in-job and moved back to New York. Mildred was someone who loved helping others which lead her to a job at Bronx Lebanon Hospital where she remained until retirement. Mildred join Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she worked and held many functions in the church; especially the Georgia Club. Mildred leaves to cherish her 89 years of memories (her son) Calvin Culver, (her daughter) Jeannette Alston, (4 grandchildren) Terrique, Paige, Troy, and Deyvone (6 great grand children), cousins many other relatives and friends.
