Mildred (Mindy) Elaine Mendlik Mindy a long time resident of Land O’ Lakes passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Thursday the 19th of July 2018. She was born September 4th 1929 to Eugene Knuth and Gertrude Knuth (Caudill). She was 88. She was a graduate of Eagle River Union High School and attended Lawrence University in Appleton Wisconsin. Mindy moved back to Land O’ Lakes and… Read More » worked as a bookkeeper at Knuth Brothers’ Lumber Company, a Secretary at the Grade School and finished out her career in public service as the Clerk/Treasurer for the Town of Land O’ Lakes. Mindy was very proud of the home she designed and helped build on Big Portage Lake and was a founding member of the Big Portage Lake Riparian Owners Association. She is survived by two daughters Melinda (Marv) Suby and Elizabeth (Kent) Stenmark, one son Todd (Diane Zeller) Mendlik and one grandson Ben Suby. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister Dorothy Mostosky, one son Brent (Buzz) Mendlik and one grandson Adam Suby. The family will be following Mindy’s wishes regarding no formal ceremony, holding a private interment at a later date. Mindy was an avid reader so in lieu of flowers a donation to the Land O’ Lakes Library or local charity would be appreciated.
