Michael Wayne Furtaw, 58 Michael Wayne Furtaw, 58 of Waverly, formerly of Portsmouth died Tuesday July 17, 2018 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, KY. He was born October 10, 1959 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Virgil Henry Furtaw Jr. and Laura Marie Priest Furtaw who survives. He retired from McKesson Corporation in Atlanta, was a United States Air Force Veteran, and a member of the VFW Post 3441 in Columbus. Along with his mother, Michael is survived by his wife; Cheryl Ellen Kochensparger Furtaw who he married April 10, 1999, 2 stepsons; Jason and Graham Erb, a brother; Kenneth (Nila) Furtaw, 2 sisters; Carol (Kelly) Shy and Bonnie Furtaw, along with several nieces and nephews who loved him a lot. A Celebration of Life Service for Michael will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
