Obituary for Maurine S. Hartner Maurine Hartner, age 91, a 3-year resident of Troy, formerly of Detroit, passed away July 15, 2018 at Ascension Crittenton Hospital. She was born May 7, 1927 in Red Bird, Kentucky to the late Jack and Rose France. Prior to retiring in the early 90’s, Maurine worked as a waitress for 39 years at the Pilot House in Detroit. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling around the country, especially to Vegas where she loved to gamble (and was quite good at it). Maurine will not only be remembered for her “big” luxury cars, but for her loving and generous personality, and for being an excellent caregiver to her late mother Rose. Loving mother of Jannette (Carl) Van Nostrand; proud grandmother of Daniel Van Nostrand and Lisa Evans; and dear sister of Zedna Anastiasa and the late Nettie France and Lonza Cummings. Also very fond of her nephews Bill, Steve and Paul Cummings and proud aunt of her great-nieces and nephews. Visitation Thursday 10 a.m. until the time of service 1 p.m. at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home, 705 W 11 Mile Road (4 blocks E of Woodward), Royal Oak. Burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit. Memorials to the donor’s choice of charity are appreciated.
