Mary R. Johnson, 77, of Williamsport, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at her home. Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Marlin L. Johnson. Born March 7, 1941, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Nina Smith. Mary was a 1959 graduate of Williamsport High School and received a certificate from the former Williamsport Area Community College as a Machinist. She was a member of the former Memorial Baptist Church. She was an animal lover and especially had a special place in her heart for her black German Shepherd. Most of all Mary loved to be home and spend time with her family. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Dean L. Johnson, of Nisbet and Kevin W. Johnson, of Lake Worth, Fla.; a daughter, Sherry M. Lynch, of Montoursville; seven grandchildren, Payton and Paige Lynch, of Montoursville, Tia Johnson, of Morgantown, West Virginia, and Tristan, Victoria, Gabriel, and Katerina Johnson, all of Avis; and a sister, Pat Booner, of Williamsport. In keeping with her wishes services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s name to the SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
