Obituary for Mrs. Mary Ann Custis Mary Ann Turner Custis was born October 20, 1953 in Accomack County, Virginia. Ms. Custis passed away in the peace and comfort of her home on May 15, 2017. she was the daughter of the late Norman Jerome Turner, Sr. and the late Louise Carrie Bailey. Mary had three children and was preceded in death by her son Jerome Walter Custis, Jr. who died at the age of 13 and her brother Norman Jerome Turner, Jr.. She is survived by her two youngest children, a daughter Nikola Natasha Custis and a son Rashyn Custis and his wife Casey Custis; a loving and devoted companion and caregiver, James Custis Rogers; her four grand girls as she affectionately called them, Kyesha Custis, Tykayla Williams, Dashynti Custis and Jazlynn Custis; sisters, Carolyn Ayers, Olice Davis and Iva Davis; brothers, Almer Lee Collins and Donnie Rogers; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary loved family time. Her favorite meal included fried chicken, fried apples, baked macaroni and cheese and succotash, potato salad and rice pudding.
