Martin “Marty” L. Luffman, 65, of Doland, SD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at his home in Doland surrounded by his two daughters and ex-wife. His memorial service, with military honors, will be 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield, SD. Reverend Tammy Toepke-Floyd will officiate. There will be a time of fellowship following the service at the J & A Bar in Doland. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service, beginning at 2:00 p.m., with family present to accept condolences. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home (www.hykefuneralhome.com). Martin L. Luffman was born June 13, 1953 in Seneca Falls, NY to Charles and Margaret (Dutton) Luffman. He spent his childhood living on the farm in Seneca Falls and graduated from Mynders Academy in Seneca Falls. He married Bonnie White on July 14, 1973 in Waterloo, NY and to this union two daughters were born. The family lived in Clarksville, TN, Waterloo, NY and Seneca Falls, NY before moving to Doland. Marty honorably served with the U.S. Army for three years prior to working at the Seneca Army Depot for 20 years. He also worked at By Pork for 11 years and then at the R-Bar & Lounge for seven years before retiring. He loved gardening, car races, football and his dog. Marty is survived by his loving daughters: Tanya (Marcelino) Zuniga of Bryant, SD and Marie (Troy) Heer of Doland; grandchildren: Kayla Van Sickle of Sioux Falls, SD, Tyler Luffman Sanger of Bryant, Tobie Becker and Jesse Heer, both of Doland and Damian Zuniga and Tatiana Zuniga, both of Bryant. He is also survived by his siblings: Guy (Dorothy) Luffman of Seneca Falls, NY; Charles (Nancy) Luffman of Seneca Falls, NY; Judson (Robin) Luffman of Waterloo, NY; Donald (Tammy) Luffman of Seneca Falls, NY; Wesley (Gloria) Luffman of Seneca Falls, NY; John (Judy) Luffman of Hamburg, NY; and Tammy (Scott) Ridley of Seneca Falls, NY; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; twin brothers; grandparents: Judson (Margaret) Dutton and Ernest (Marion) Luffman; nephew Edwin Luffman and granddaughter Alexandra Becker.
