Obituary for Martha “Marty Henry Martha “Marty” Ramsey Henry, 75, of Johnson City passed away at the Johnson City Medical Center on Sunday, July 1, 2018. She was a native of Unicoi County and daughter of the late Alvin Ramsey, Sr. and Kate Tilson Ramsey. In addition to her parents, Marty was preceded in death by her brother, Alvin Ramsey, Jr., and sister Imojean Shipley. Those left to cherish Marty’s memory include her loving husband, Eddie Henry, III, her children: Shelley Branche and her husband Steve, Tina Rice and her husband Gerald, Brad Young and his wife Audra; step son, Chad Henry, step-daughter, Gayla Estes; grandchildren: Lance, Harley, Bailey, Peyton, and Cameron; great-granddaughter, Madeleine; step-grandchildren: Bolton and Carder; sisters: Alice Carroll, Louise Laws and her husband Wayne, Margaret Harper and her husband Jim; several nieces and nephews. The family will gather to greet friends and share memories on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm followed by a Celebration of Marty’s Life at Grace Free Will Baptist Church of Johnson City, with Pastor Curtis Hurt and Pastor Jackie Cole officiating. A Graveside and Committal Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, July 5th at Washington County Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
