Martha Murry passed away on 9th of July, 2018. She was 96 years old. Martha was born on October 24, 1921 to John and Mary Rodgers in Chincoteague, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband Richard “Toby” Murry; and 7 brothers and sisters. Martha came to Newport in 1945 with her husband Toby. In the next several years Toby went into business with his father, Alva Murry, owning a wrecking yard, towing business and a garage where Toby repaired cars. These businesses eventually became Toby Murry Motors in South Beach. She is the only living charter member of the Eagles and was a lifelong bowler in many leagues of the years in Toledo and Newport. Martha is survived by three sons: Dick (Terry), Greg (Linda), James (Bernie); 7 grandkids; 11 great grandkids; and four great great grandkids. She was loved by her large family and the many friends that her and Toby made for many years. A celebration of life will be held at the Eagles Lodge in Newport August 4th at 3:00p.m.
