Obituary for Marlene Kay Whitman WHITMAN, Mrs. Marlene K. Portage, MI Died Saturday evening June 30, 2018. Marlene was born December 20, 1942 in Plainwell, Michigan a daughter of Leonard and Dora (Anson) Norman. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and owned and operated Norman Camera for many years. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anthony E. Whitman on March 15, 1996; and a sister, Reta Sackett. She is survived by 2 daughters, Kelly (Mike) Felton and Shannon (Tim Leto) Whitman all of Portage; 3 grandchildren, Luke Leto, Khloe Felton, and Levi Leto; 3 brothers, Melvin Norman of Battle Creek, Merton (Phyllis) Norman of Paw Paw, and Dennis Norman of Portage; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. A memorial gathering will be held 6-8pm Tuesday, July 10th at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th St. Private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Michigan Medicine Rogel Cancer Center for the research of Dr. Daniel Hayes.
