Margaret Peggy Cox 1939 2018

Obituary for Margaret “Peggy” Cox (Brenkus) MARGARET COX Margaret, 79, of Midway, died Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Concordia Hospice of Washington. She was born May 21, 1939, in McDonald, a daughter of the late Charles J. and Clara Capitani Brenkus. Mrs. Cox was retired from previous employment at Fab-Tec Industries, Inc. of Coraopolis, Iron City Sash and Door Co of Greentree where she was the treasurer, and Daco Machine & Fab of Washington, PA. She was also a co-owner of Cox Machine Shop in Midway. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Bulger where she formerly served on the finance committee. She was also a member of the Center U.P. Church quilting group and the Eight Spots Card Club. She enjoyed needlework, hand quilting, playing cards, watching the Steelers and Penguins and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Richard H. Cox; children, daughter, Lori A. (Jeffrey) Gilmer of Indianapolis, IN, son, Richard A. Cox of Washington, PA; grandson, J.D. (Lauren) Gilmer; granddaughters, Ashley (Joe) Lucas and Nicole E. (Nathan) Thompson. Also surviving are her great grandchildren, Leah and Nicholas Gilmer, Gavin and Emma Lucas. She was preceded in death by her brother, John C. Brenkus. Friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Thomas-Little Funeral Service, Inc., 106 St. John Street, Midway (724-796-3301). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Ann’s R. C. Church, 967 Grant Street, Bulger, PA 15019. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Concordia Hospice of Washington, (Donnell House) 10 Leet Street, Washington, PA 15301. Order Flowers
