Obituary of Lorst Graves Lorst Farrell Graves, age 89, formerly of Randleman passed away on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at GrayBrier Nursing and Retirement Center. Mr. Graves was born in Bath, NC on September 29, 1928 to Ottis and Merle Ring Graves. Farrell served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was Commander of the DAV Chapter in Asheboro for several terms. He was retired from S.E. Trogdon Construction and was a member of Open Door Baptist Church in Archdale. In addition to his parents, Farrell was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Kennedy Graves, brother, Elbert Graves, sister, Mildred Chriscoe, son-in-law, Reed Ledbetter, and grandchildren, Michael, Ashley, and Zoni. Farrell was a loving father and grandfather. He was hard working, enjoyed fishing, and was a huge fan of his grandchildren’s sports. Farrell loved gardening and sharing his bounty with family and friends. He is survived by his children, Douglas Farrell Graves of Greensboro, Annette Graves Turner of Randleman, Lloyd Graves of Kernersville, Karen Ledbetter of Randleman, and Reece Graves and wife Jeanise of Archdale; grandchildren, Arlie, Lane, Chad, Kirby, Brandon, Tammy, Julie, and Shannon; great grandchildren, Georgia, Ezekiel, Alexandria, and Eleriee; sisters, Sarah Graves Williamson and husband Roy of Seagrove, Maxine Darden of Wilmington; and brothers, Ralph Graves of Seagrove and Jesse Graves and wife Martha of Seagrove. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim White officiating. Burial will follow in the Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to Open Door Baptist Church, 135 W.
