Obituary of Lorene Vinson Lorene Vinson, 98, Franklin, passed away at Christina Place in Franklin at 8:53 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. She was born in Scottsville, Kentucky, on April 12, 1920, and was the daughter of the Samuel Maize and Dollie (Bridgeman) Piper. Lorene married Sam Vinson on October 5, 1937, and they shared nearly 62 years together before he passed away on June 3, 1999. Lorene worked Eck-Adams upholstery business in Peru, where she was a seamstress. She had previously been employed at Wallace’s in Amboy and Mississinewa Coil Factory. Lorene enjoyed quilting, reading her Bible, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She attended First Church of the Nazarene in Swayzee. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Buchanon, Greenwood; son-in-law, Chris Cline, Swayzee; grandchildren, Donna (Kevin) Thompson, South Haven, Mississippi, Shari (Joshua) Early, Whiteland, Kerry (Missy) Buchanon, Nashville, Indiana, Christina (Tim) Russel, Greentown, Sara (Neal) Bates, Marion, Christopher Cline, Noblesville, and Samantha Cline, Swayzee; 5 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and 3 step-great-great-grandchildren. Also preceding her in death were son-in-law, Kenneth Buchanon; daughter, Jackie Cline; sisters, Flossie Guy and Christine Pardue; and brothers, Carlene, Vestal, and Glendon Piper. The family will receive visitors from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee IN. Services to celebrate Lorene’s life will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Roy King officiating. Burial will follow at Thrailkill Cemetery.
