Obituary for Lee Allen Lanes Lee Allen Lanes, 78, of Columbia passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018 at his home. He was born August 23, 1939 in Montevideo, Minnesota the son of the late Walter and Edith (Eichelberger) Lanes. On April 27, 1963 he was united in marriage to Verna “Vickie” Vickers who preceded him in death on March 13, 2018. Lee worked at Shelter Insurance in Columbia for 38 years. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed spending time outside taking care of his property, and loved to travel in his motorhome with Vickie. Lee is survived by one son: Roger Lanes of Harrisburg; one daughter: Sandra Hayes (John) of Gainesville, Georgia; one brother-in-law: Vernon Vickers Jr. (Faye) Hot Springs, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Alexandra Dalton (Josh), McCollum Hayes, Tristan Hayes, Cameron Hayes and Tanner Lanes and one great grandchild: Grayson Dalton. He was preceded in death by one son Keith Lanes. Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at the Parker-Millard Funeral Home. Graveside Services will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
