Obituary of Lawrence Cairns Lawrence A. “Larry” Cairns, 81, passed away on Wednesday morning, February 28, 2018 at Mountainside Nursing Home in Margaretville. Born on July 15, 1936, Larry was the son of the late Allan and Elinor (Ceas) Cairns. He was a graduate of South Kortright Central School. Larry worked for the Allen Boys School in South Kortright, and later drove a milk truck for Riddell Bros of Oneonta. He also drove school bus for the South Kortright Central School. Besides his parents, Larry was predeceased by a daughter: Teresa Hauser; and a brother: Robert Cairns. He is survived by his wife: Nancy Cairns of Highpoint, NC; four children: Michael (Elaine) Cairns of Schoharie, Roger Cairns of Stamford, Mathew Cairns of Highpoint, NC and JoAnne Maxey of Goose Creek, SC; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends are asked to join in a celebration of Larry’s life Saturday July 14th at 11 o’clock at 173 Meeghan Rd, Stamford. Contributions in memory of Larry may be made to a charity of one’s choice. The Cairns family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Mountainside for the care Larry received over the last two decades he has lived there.
