Obituary for Juanita V. Cole Juanita V. Cole, 93, of Clear Lake, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2018 at Good Shepherd Health Center, Mason City. A graveside service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Father Jacob Rouse officiating. A celebration of life will follow the graveside service at 2:00 p.m. in the Clear Lake VFW. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Juanita Cole Memorial Fund. Juanita (Faktor) Latham Gustin Cole was born in rural Plymouth, Iowa on October 13, 1924, daughter of Rose (Cinkle) and Lou Faktor. Juanita grew up with three brothers, Marvin, Leland and Laverne (Bud). Leland was a WWII hero. He died as one of Doolittles Raiders in the Bombing of Tokyo. She went to school in Plymouth graduating in 1943. She married Lavern Latham in 1943 and had Rosemary and Connie. She was married to Harold Gustin in 1951 and had Ron in 1952. She married Robert Cole in 1976. She worked various jobs in Mason City and Clear Lake, but her most important job was raising her family. She retired from Sperry – Univac – Unisys in 1986 after Bob died in 1980. She was a life-member of Women’s Auxiliary of VFW in Clear Lake. She was very proud of her country and flag, flying a flag whenever weather permitted. She loved to dance, garden and go out for coffee every morning, usually at McDonald’s in Clear Lake. She especially liked to send cards to family and friends for every occasion. She enjoyed getting together with family and friends. Juanita is survived by her children, Rosemary Ash of Altoona, Iowa and Ron (Teri) Gustin of Clear Lake, Iowa; grandchildren, Sheila Smidt, Steve Ash, Ronnie Daniels, Eric Gustin, Chad Gustin and Matt Gustin; eight great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; daughter, Connie Smidt; husbands and other family members. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Juanita V.
