OBITUARY Joyce Patricia Davis July 10, 1945 – July 20, 2018 Mrs. Joyce Patricia Davis, 73, of Gadsden, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, July 20, 2018. Funeral service will be held on July 23, 2018 at 12:30 pm at Collier-Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Noah Medders officiating. Burial will follow at the Katy Morange Hughes Cemetery. Mrs. Davis was born on July 10, 1945, in Gadsden, Alabama to Calvin and Lela Greene. She attended Hokes Bluff High School and graduated in the class of 1963. She was a faithful Christian and devoted church member who spent many years teaching Sunday School. She was a member of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She literally lit up a room with her smile and was full of joy. Mrs. Davis had a vibrant soul and led many people to Christ. She was always a figure of strength whose faith never waned. Mrs. Davis will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, John E. Davis and daughters, Renee Davis and Cindy (Frank) Skelton. She will also be fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Amanda Calloway, Jacob and Leanna Skelton and by her beloved brother Donnie Greene, and nephew Levi Greene. She is preceded in death by her parents Calvin and Lela Greene, and her sister-in-law, Theresa Greene. The family will be receiving friends for visitation from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Monday, July 23, 2018.
