Obituary for Joseph Slayzak Joseph S. Slayzak, 86, of the town of Poughkeepsie, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Pines at Poughkeepsie. He was born in Hemlock Creek, PA on May 19, 1932, the son of Joseph and Elsie Hutchin Slezak. On August 11, 1962, in St. Mary’s Church, Mocanaqua, PA, he married Jean Lukashefski, who survives. Mr. Slayzak earned a BA degree at Penn state in Wilkes Barre, PA, and served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS New Jersey as a radioman. He was employed at IBM in E. Fishkill as a service manager. Besides his wife, also surviving are his sons, Steven Slayzak of Colorado, and Kevin Slayzak of New York state, and a granddaughter, Veronika Slayzak. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. Arrangements are in charge of the Delehanty Funeral Home, Wappingers Falls. Order Flowers
