John William Duffy 2018

John William Duffy passed away on July 2, 2018 at the age of 81, in Bristol, Vermont with family and friends by his side. John was born on August 22, 1936, in Burlington, Vermont, To Daniel L. and Alice M. (Ready) Duffy. He grew up as the youngest of four children on Rumsey Lane in Burlington. John graduated from Cathedral High School in 1954; spent two years in the (then) Air Corps stationed in Maine and worked at several local companies throughout his career; of which The Lane Press is where he eventually retired from in 2002 after 35 years. John and his then wife Arlene made their home in South Burlington, VT with their three children; He was very active in his children’s’ lives whether it was sports, plays, fishing, camping or just hanging out at the neighbor’s pool. John also spent many active years as Past Grand Knight, Former Faithful Navigator, and Former District Deputy with the ST. John Vianney Knight of Columbus, Council 7525 and Louis J Trono Assembly 2106, helping to grow their organization during their formative years. In his retirement, John enjoyed his time in The Villages playing golf and pickle ball, and listening to music on the squares. John is survived by his children, Sharon “Sherry” Duffy, David Duffy and wife Sheila, and Darrel Duffy and wife Laurie; Two grandchildren, Kayla Duffy and Taylor Duffy and great grandson Landon. John is also predeceased by one Daughter, Donna Rae. A special thank you to Peter and Gail Cousino and family who, for the last three years, took John into their home, looked after him and kept him safe.
