Johnny D. Budlong, age 69, resident of Hickory Withe, Tennessee and husband of Patsy McLemore Budlong, died Saturday morning, June 30, 2018 at his residence. Funeral Services for Mr. Budlong will be conducted at 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Eddie Little, pastor of First Baptist Church Hickory Withe, officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. A visitation for Mr. Budlong will be from 9:30 to 11 A.M. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center – West Chapel at Oakland. Johnny was born February 26, 1949 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Jefferson D. Budlong and Catherine Nagel Budlong. He was a graduate of Kingsbury High School Class of 1969 and was married September 18, 1970 to the former Patsy McLemore. He was a master carpenter throughout his life and was employed by the City of Memphis before his retirement in 2002. Following his retirement, he did remodeling jobs. Johnny was a longtime resident of the Hickory Withe area and attended First Baptist Church Hickory Withe. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and special times with his grandchildren. Mr. Budlong is survived by his wife of 47 years, Patsy Budlong of Hickory Withe, TN; his son, Keith Budlong (Rachel) of Lakeland, TN; his daughter, Amy Byrd (Ian) of Germantown, TN; his sister, Glenda Dozier of Culleoka, TN; and four grandchildren, Callie Budlong, Madelyn Budlong, Davis Byrd and Cameron Byrd. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Randy Gay, Robby Gay, Ian Byrd, Justin Jones, Jay Jones, Joe Jones and Richard Hudson.
