John “Jack Rehling Jr 2018

John “Jack” Rehling, Jr., age 87, passed away Friday, July 27, 2018 at his home in Oakley. Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to John Rehling, Sr. and Clara Tauber Rehling, Jack grew up in Coryville, graduated from Roger Bacon High School, and proudly served his country in the United States Army. A long-time employee of City Loan and Savings (Citicorp), Jack loved his work. But what he loved more was his family, each of whom he called “babe.” Loving father of Kim Chiodi, Cindy Young and Sally Crockett; supportive father-in-law of Nick Beck, Bob Young and Brian Crockett; cherished grandfather of Dominic, AnneMarie, Alexander, Jonathon, Christina, Melissa, Adam, Tiffany and Emily; devoted great-grandfather of Olivia, Paris, Jesse, McKinzie, Jack, Luna and Bella. Also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Jack was a devoted Catholic, a moral compass for his family, and a wonderful role model for all who were lucky enough to know him. Visitation on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Gilligan Funeral Home (East Walnut Hills), 2926 Woodburn Avenue, Cincinnati 45206. Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, August 1, at 10:30 am at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 3105 Madison Road, Cincinnati 45209. Memorial donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Research or charity of choice.
