Obituary for John G. McMillan John G. McMillan John slipped away peacefully Wednesday, July 4, 2018 after a long struggle with Parkinson’s and Lewy Body Dementia. Born in Minneapolis February 23, 1935. Preceded in death by parents, Godfrey and Alice McMillan. Survived by wife Joan Mitby McMillan, sons David McMillan (Cari), Daniel McMillan (Beth), Stephen McMillan (Lynda Taylor), grandchildren Mary McMillan Sweet (Alex), Andrew McMillan, John McMillan, Nicholas McMillan, Joseph McMillan; brother Ralph McMillan (Charlene); sister-in-law Jean Mitby; nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends. Graduate of South High; University of Minnesota–Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering. Served in U.S. Army. Employed at Pratt & Whitney, Honeywell, St. Paul Schools, Hennepin County, and IDS/American Express. Special thank you to staff at Minneapolis Veterans Home for their loving care during John’s stay since July 2014. Celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Faith United Methodist Church, 2708 33rd Ave. NE, St. Anthony, with visitation one hour prior to service. Visitation at Washburn-McReavy Hillside Chapel, 2610 19th Ave. NE from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Sunday, July 8, 2018. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to South High Foundation, Faith United Methodist Church of St. Anthony, Family Council at the Minneapolis Veterans Home or donor’s choice. www.Washburn-McReavy.com Hillside Chapel 612-781-1999
