Obituary for John “Big John” Manley John “Big John” Manley, 61 of Pinson, passed away on July 16, 2018 at the St. Vincent’s East Hospital. He was born on October 16, 1956 to Carl Edwin and Carolyn Frances Murphy Manley. He was a 1975 graduate of Hewitt-Trussville High School; he was a member of Bradford Sanctuary of Praise. Mr. Manley is preceded in death by his parents. Carl and Carolyn Manley. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Karen Manley; children, Amy (Charles) Shelton and April (Terry) Fendley; grandchildren, Alexandria, Kimberly, Jestyn and Charlie Shelton; Blakeley, Jacob, and Kamryn Fendley; siblings, Carol Faith Manley and James A. (Kathryn) Manley; a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the Mt. Calvary Presbyterian Church with Pastor Jeff Noles officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Lemley Funeral Home. Mr. Manley will lie in state at the church on Wednesday from 12:00 noon until funeral time. Lemley Funeral Home directing.
