OBITUARY JoAnn Smith Williams May 7, 1936 – July 12, 2018 JoAnn Smith Williams, 82, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama passed away July 12, 2018. She was born May 7, 1936 in Gadsden, Alabama and grew up in Attalla. She graduated from Etowah County High School and attended Jacksonville State University. JoAnn worked for Bellsouth for over 35 years and was a member of Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and friend to many. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Elmus Smith and Kathryn Ellis Smith. She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Rob) Drew of Atlanta, Georgia; her three grandchildren, Will Drew, Jackson Drew and Kate Drew of Atlanta, Georgia; and numerous cousins. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 18 at Oak Hill Cemetery in Attalla, Alabama. The Rev. Sherry Harris will officiate. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
