Jeremy Ryan Hicks Age 37 of Wilmington, passed away Saturday evening, July 28, 2018. Born August 4, 1980 in Joliet, Illinois, Jeremy Ryan is the son of Renee (George) Zouganelis and the late Norman Howard Hicks. He was raised and educated in Wilmington and after earning his High School Diploma he went to work in the family business at Community GMC of Wilmington. Jeremy grew up racing go-karts and rooting for the Chicago Bears, White Sox and Bulls. In his free time he enjoyed being on the water and going fishing. He also enjoyed playing games, drawing, listening to music and having fun with friends and family. Survivors include his parents, Renee and George Zouganelis; two daughters: Makayla and Danika; sister: Alexis Zouganelis (Trevor Delehanty); niece: Anslee; aunt: Krista Graham, and uncles: Pete Zouganelis and Victor Howard, all of Wilmington, as well as numerous cousins. Jeremy was preceded in death by his father, Norman; paternal grandparents: Larry and Martha Hicks; maternal grandparents: Preston and Ann Graham; grandparents: George, Sr. and Helen Zouganelis, and one aunt, Debra Howard. The family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until time of funeral service 7:00 p.m. at Baskerville Funeral Home, 700 East Kahler Road in Wilmington. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made as gifts in Jeremy’s memory to the American Lung Association.
