Readington Twp- Jeffrey John Begane, 59, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Robert Wood Johnson-Somerset Hospital. Son of the late James and Josephine Begane, Jeffrey was born in Somerville and lived in Bound Brook before moving to Readington Twp 23 years ago. Jeffrey was a 1976 graduate of Bound Brook High School and was a graduate of Devry Institute of Technology. Jeffrey was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for the last 29 years. All his life Jeffrey rooted intensely for his Yankees, New York Giants and Rutgers Scarlet Knights. It wasn’t until his oldest son and now too his youngest went to The Ohio State University that Jeffrey became a Buckeye. In his leisure time, he most enjoyed trips to Monmouth Racetrack, Atlantic City, and traveling with his family. Above all else Jeff always put his family first. Jeffrey is predeceased by his brother, James Begane in 2011; his sister, Andrea Begane in 2014, and his youngest brother, Andrew Begane in 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Suzanne E. (Foster) Begane; sons, Matthew Foster Begane and Scott Adam Begane; siblings, Arlene Begane and fiancé, Dennis Pratt, Joanne Begane, Patricia Begane-Norris and husband, Patrick; and nieces and nephews, Edward, Stephen, Amanda, Alexander, Daniel, Bryan, Thomas, and Kelly. Additionally survived by his in-laws, Ronald and Elizabeth Foster, as well as sister in-law Lynn Foster and her husband Skip Reese. Visiting hours will be from 2-5PM, Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the Bridgewater Funeral Home, 707 East Main Street, Bridgewater, NJ 08807. Prayers will be said 9AM, Monday, July 30, 2018 at the funeral home, followed by a 10AM mass at St. Joseph’s Church in Bound Brook. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
