Jeanette Doss Fowlkes, 86, of Ringgold, Va., passed away Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Riverside Health & Rehab. She was born April 13, 1932, in Pittsylvania County, Va., to the late Ellen Dalton Doss and the late Willie R. Doss. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James E. Fowlkes. Mrs. Fowlkes adored her grandchildren. She worked for Health-Tex for 28 years, and attended Glen Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Fowlkes was predeceased by her daughter, Julia Marie Fowlkes, as well as two sisters and two brothers. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2018, at Norris Mt. Hermon Chapel with Rev. J.B. Baldridge officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service, and at other times at the residence of Jim and Lisa Fowlkes, 1086 Double Creek Road, Sutherlin, Va.
