Obituary for Mr. Jay Wee Yee Jay Wee Yee, 83 years, lifelong resident of Dobbs Ferry and local business owner of the Stationery Store and Laundromat, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on July 29th, 2018. Born in Taishan, Guangdong, China and immigrated to Dobbs Ferry at 6 years old. A graduate of Dobbs Ferry High School’s Class of 1957 and CUNY’s City College, he was an accomplished mechanical engineer working on the Hubble Space Telescope among many special research projects at Columbia University. He continued his fascination with space and physics by attending Nevis Lectures, and visiting the Andrus Planetarium at the Hudson River Museum. In his spare time, he loved fresh water fishing in upstate New York and Canada. Survived by his wife of 54 years, Lena Yee (nee Chiu), daughter, Helen P. Yee, son and daughter-in-law, Howard J. and Anita L. Yee; grandson, Tyler A. Saponara and many nieces and nephews throughout the US, Canada and China.
