Janice M. “Jan” Blaney, 60, of Champion, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 28, 2018, at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. She was born January 16, 1958 in Warren, a daughter of the late Dale and Dorothy (Ramsey) Kinnison. Jan was a graduate of Champion High School, and went on to study accounting. She utilized her education to provide more than 40 years of devoted service to the Warren Scrap Yard. Many say that Jan was good at everything she did. She was gifted with the talent to turn something ordinary into sensational with her innovative mind. She loved spending time expressing her creativity through crafting, baking, decorating, and planning. She truly was an exceptional artist. Jan’s whole world revolved around the incredible relationship she had with her daughter, McKenzie. Best friends couldn’t even begin to describe the inseparable connection they shared. “Maki” was the best friend and brightest part of her life; she was her sunshine. Jan always wanted her to know she loved her, bigger. Jan was the true definition of selfless. She was always encouraging, motivating, and uplifting those around her. She went the extra mile for anyone to simply make them smile. Continuously, she donated her time, effort, and support to those in need in her community. Jan was kind, loving, and inspirational, finding the positive in even the worst situation. She had an absolutely captivating soul. Her faith in the Lord was strong as she shared scripture with others on a regular basis to help them find comfort in every situation. “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give you. I do not give as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” – John 14:27. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, McKenzie M. Blaney, of Champion; her mother, Dorothy Kinnison, of Florida; three sisters; Debra Eckstein, of Florida, Cheri Woak, of Niles, and Kimberly McCullough, of Delaware; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends near and dear to Jannie’s heart.
