Obituary for Janet Finnegan (Yon) Janet L. Finnegan Nov. 12, 1925 – July 23, 2018 Janet L. Finnegan, 92, Altoona, passed away Monday evening at UPMC Altoona following a brief illness. She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Cecil E. and Mary Elizabeth (Evey) Yon. Janet married Thomas J. Finnegan Jr. on Sept. 2, 1950, in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1990. Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia E. Finnegan of Altoona and Cynthia’s sons, Christopher M. Cogan of Wexford, and Walker Thomas Reifsteck of Altoona; she is also survived by a son, Thomas J. Finnegan III and wife, Beverly, of Dublin, Ohio, and their sons, Matthew and Gregory Finnegan of Ostrander, Ohio; and a son, Peter J. Finnegan of Wexford. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth W. Yon. Janet was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry and attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Altoona. She was a 1943 graduate of Altoona High School. Janet was a member of the Altoona Symphony Orchestra and later became an active member of the Altoona Symphony League. She enjoyed and loved her dog, Muffin, as well as spending time with her family. All services will be privately held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made at Alto-Reste Park. Arrangements are by The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park.
