James Earl Mitchell January 27 1929 July 20 2018 (age 89)

James Earl Mitchell, 89, of Holly Pond, entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior on Friday, July 20, 2018. Mr. Mitchell was born January 27, 1929 to Earl and Naomi Bailey Mitchell in Etowah County. James served our country in the United States Army for two years. We are grateful for his sacrifice to our continued freedom. Mr. Mitchell was a welder and provided for his family with his skills. Mr. Mitchell was a hunter and fisherman. He was related to everyone in one way or another. He liked to sing and loved to talk. James was left-handed, naturally, making him smarter than right-handed people. James dearly loved his wife, as well as the rest of his family. He will be missed greatly. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of almost 60 years, Kathleen Lovell Mitchell; brother, Marvin (Pauline) Mitchell; brother-in-law, Darryl (Candy) Lovell; and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Perry Allbritten and Jr. Plunkett officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Pond Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Holly Pond Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mr. Mitchell.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of James Earl Mitchell January 27 1929 July 20 2018 (age 89). Holly Pond Funeral Home
